Why do I need to have a contact lens fitting/follow-up every year?
All patients who are new to our practice and who wish to have contact lenses need to be fit for them. This entails an evaluation of the cornea including measurements, integrity and tear function as well a trial fitting of contact lenses and instruction (if new to contact lens wear). Follow up visits are included in the fitting fee ensuring a successful fit. Afterwards, annual contact lens evaluations are needed to ensure proper fit, vision and ocular health, as well as to be sure the lens technology is suitable to your needs.
