Dr. Joseph E. Pavano, III
|
Education…
Dr. Pavano received his BA in Natural Science from Saint Anselm College, Manchester, New Hampshire in 1983. Additionally, he studied at Central Connecticut State University and UCONN. In May of 1987, he was awarded a doctorate degree (O.D) and graduated with clinical honors from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. His externships included, the Boston Eye Clinic, ( Pediatrics) Western Massachusetts State Hospital, (Ocular disease) Brighton Marine U.S. Public Health Hospital, (Ocular disease, contact lenses) South Boston Community Heath Center, (Ocular disease, Pediatrics, contact lenses) and Waterbury Eye Associates with Drs. Vincent DeLuise and Mark Ruchman, Yale University professors (Ocular disease).
Additionally, in 1992, Dr. Pavano received his Ocular Therapeutics Certification from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
In 1996, he received his Advanced Optometric Practice Certification and was acknowledged as a Clinical Diplomate in Glaucoma from the State University of New York.

Dr. Pavano is managing partner and owner of “DOCTOR PAVANO & Associates” with two locations in New Britain and Bristol, CT since 1987. He is owner of “Diagnostic Laser Consultants”, a mobile, glaucoma, diagnostic laser company (GdX), that services Optometric offices throughout Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Dr. Pavano is a certified lecturer for Alcon, Allergan, B&L, and Inspire Pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, he has presented COPE approved lectures for the Zeiss Meditec Ophthalmic Instrument company. Lastly, Dr. Pavano is an Optometric consultant, his “Seven Points of Optometric consultation” has helped dozens of his colleagues practices throughout New England in the area of coding and billing.
